Uses
For biochemical research. As a β-galactosidase-inhibiting antimicrobial agent that inhibits the cross-linking of peptidoglycan, thereby inhibiting bacterial cell walls, cefotaxime is active against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria,it Inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis.
Cefotaxime is commonly used in plant histoculture & bacterial colony selection. mainly used to inhibit Agrobacterium in plant tissue culture.
Antibacterial spectrum: Gram-negative and positive bacteria.
Some phytotoxicity, Plant cell toxicity threshold ~100ug/ml
Working concentration :
Plant histoculture ~ 100-300 μg/ml;
Bacterial selection (rESBL / rPMQR) ~ 50~200 μg/ml
