This yeast cold lysate extract is derived from brewer’s yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) through a high-pressure injection lysis process, followed by protease hydrolysis, concentration, and vacuum powdering. The extract undergoes complete enzymatic digestion, yielding premium protein-nitrogen content primarily in the form of free amino acids and balanced micronutrients—exceeding 5% protein nitrogen (compared to ~4% in conventional yeast extracts).
The cold extraction preserves active intracellular components, including reduced glutathione (GSH), while minimising oxidative metabolites. As a result, it offers a highly bioavailable, low-reactivity nutrient profile—ideal for sensitive microbial and eukaryotic cell cultures.
Notably, the extract contains significantly fewer oligo- and monosaccharides—typically derived from cell wall polysaccharide hydrolysis—that can act as expression inducers (e.g., mannose, galactose). This helps reduce unwanted metabolic activation and supports controlled culturing environments.
