This yeast cold lysate extract is a fresh cellular component extracted from brewer's yeast cells after a high-pressure injection cell lysis, protease hydrolysis, concentration and vacuum powdering process. The extract is fully enzymatically digested and has a premium protein nitrogen content in the form of free amino acids and balanced nutrients (>5% compared to about 4% in ordinary yeast extracts). The full cold extraction process ensures that the yeast extract retains its active ingredients, rich in reducing substances (GSH) and is low in oxidative metabolites. Suitable as an ideal nutrition source for sensitive cell cultures.

Lysate produced by the full cold extraction process contains much fewer oligosaccharides or monosaccharides, derived from the hydrolysis of cell wall polysaccharides, which in many cases are inducers of gene expression (e.g. mannose, galactose, etc.)
