f/2 Guillard’s Marine Enriched Seawater is commonly used for culturing diatoms and their external frustule (Lund, 1950; Paasche,
1973).

Preparation
Dissolve 0.10 g in 0.99L of seawater and adjust the pH to 7.2 +/- 0.1 or the customer's desired range by 5M HCl / 5M KOH. Bring the final volume to 1.0L with seawater and Sterilize by autoclaving at 121°C for 15 minutes.
Shake well to disperse the sodium metasilicate within the medium before use or dispense.
