Usage

For the selective culture of Gram-negative bacteria.


Characteristics of bacterial growth on G- selective medium:

Inoculate with the following quality control strains and place in 36±1°C aerobic culture for 18-24 hours.

Per 1000mL of G- selective medium contains

Peptone                                                  5 g

Yeast extract                                          2 g

Crystalline Violet                                    0.002 g

Skimmed Milk Powder                           1 g

Streptococcus lactis peptide(Nisin)     0.0016 g

Agar                                                        15 g


pH  7.4 ± 0.2    at 25°C


Preparation

Weigh 23.0g of this product, dissolve in 1000ml distilled water with heating and stirring, divide into triangular flasks, 200ml per bottle, autoclave at 121°C for 15 minutes, when it cools down to 45-50°C, add 1 piece of sterile penicillin solution (containing penicillin G 96 units) to each bottle, mix well and pour it into the sterile petri dish.
