BG-11 medium, without agar, 250g
BG-11 medium is used for culturing cyanobacteria including Synechococcus elongates.
Microbiological sensitivity test of BG11 medium.
Inoculate with the following quality control strains and place in 25-32℃ aerobic culture for 48-72 hours.

Preparation
Weigh 1.70 g (to be more precise, 1.69g) of this product (and 10.0 g Agar, if needed), dissolve it in 1000ml distilled water, divide it into portions, and autoclave it at 121°C for 15 minutes.
Vitamin B12 may be added for those species that require it. Use f/2 vitamin solution.
Adjusting the pH of the medium to approximately 7.1 - 7.5 will avoid heavy precipitation.
